CentreLink & Employment

 

CENTRELINK

 

This is a Federal Government department that supports the unemployed Australians, including the newly arrived refugees and humanitarian entrants, with financial assistance. You must be registered with Centrelink and, depending on your individual situation; you may be eligible for one of the following benefits:

  • New Stan Allowance

  • Family & Additional Family Payment

  • Parenting Payment

  • Sole Parent Pension

  • Aged Pension

  • Special Benefit

  • Rent Assistance

There are other benefits you may be eligible for. Please ask the Centrelink staff at the following addresses:

  • 29-33 Barbara St. Fairfield

  • 251-257 Cabramatta Rd. Cabramatta

  • OR call 13 24 68 for both offices

Centrelink can provide interpreters in many community languages. You may call the Centrelink Multilingual Telephone Service on 13 12 02 or you may call 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language.

When applying for a benefit from Centrelink, you must have a Tax File Number (TFN). Please ask Centrelink staff to help you get a TFN, or call 13 28 61 and ask for instruction on how to apply for a TFN.
