Emergency & Important Contacts

EMERGENCY

In all emergency cases, dial 000. When the emergency operator answers, you will be asked what type of assistance you require: Ambulance, Police or Fire Brigade. The operator will ask questions in a particular order, depending on the emergency situation - it is important to follow this order so that the best response is given.

Please give your name, address, phone number and the location of the emergency. When giving the location of emergency, the operator will also ask you for the nearest cross-street.

At home, it is also important to have these details somewhere accessible (for example, next to the telephone). Let your family members known about it, including any children who can use the phone.

POISON

In cases of poisoning, you can call the Poisons Information Centre on 131 126.
