Assyrian New Healthy Women's Program

The Fairfield Multicultural Health Service and Fairfield Immigrant Women's Health Service are conducting the following program:
 
Project title:  Assyrian New Healthy Women's Program 
 
Timeframe:  Eight ( 8 ) Sessions
                    commencing Monday 17 October until 12 December 2005

                   12 pm - 2pm

 Venue:       Immigrant Women's Health Service
                   92 Smart Street, Fairfield
                                                 
Target Group: Assyrian Women residing in the Fairfield Local Government Area (FLGA)
 
The healthy women's program included eight sessions on the following topics:
  • Women's health
  • Being Healthy Women (Exercise and Food)
  • Changing in our lives
  • Taking care of women's bodies
  • Stress Management and
  • Relaxation health services
  • The last session will be decided by the women's group
A bilingual community educator who speak the Assyrian language will conduct the program.
 
The nature of the Healthy Women's Program will allow women to increase their awareness and understanding by providing relevant health information in their own language and be culturally sensitive to their needs.
