THE first Assyrian-language
booklet for renters was ushered in last week by NSW Fair Trading and the
Assyrian Australian Association.
The booklet, in English and
Assyrian, spells out the rights and responsibilities of renters.
Assyrian Association president
Edward Rowell said it was the first step in providing essential information
to the community.
The Fairfield Assyrian
Resource Centre, which co-ordinated the project, said it was a milestone.
"In order for the Assyrian
community to be independent and have self-confidence we need to build on
their knowledge of what is available," said the project officer, Anthony
Younan.
