Assyrian Diqlat School Celebrates

its 30th Anniversary

For 2005 the Assyrian Australian Association Diqlat School of Sydney has 280 student enrolments making 12 classes from Kindy to class 6, in addition to a Music class and two Adult classes for the Beginners and the Advanced.  The School just celebrated its 30th Anniversary and for the occasion, the AAA has published a commemorative Anniversary magazine.

 

The following are the current teachers of the School:

 

* Carmen Lazar (Principal)

* Alice George

* Evet Enwia

* Shamasha Issa Petros

* Johnny Brikha (Music) 

* Yousifos Sargis

* Youlia Al-Badawi 

* Emmanuel Kanna (Vice Principal)

* Atour Joseph

* Ammanoel Petros

* Shameran Oramai

* Suzy Georges

* Vivian Narso

 

In a special function for Ethnic Schools, two of the Diqlat school students were awarded the Minister’s Award for Excellence at a special reception held at Sydney University.

 

In another function for the Ethnic Schools Annual Dinner, the following three Diqlat Schools teachers received the Certificate of Recognition for their long service (over 10 years) for the Assyrian community in language education:

 

* Carmen Lazar

   (also Principal for 2005)

* Emmanuel Kanna

   (also Vice Principal for 2005)

* Suzy Georges
